Freedom House records, 1941-1996, 1949-1990.

Freedom House materials document the administration and programs of a grassroots organization, and the concerns and issues that face a racially mixed neighborhood during a fifty-year period. It also documents the social activism of its founders and the networks they developed with other organizations, politicians, and community leaders. Reference files included in the collection provide a broader picture of the political issues facing African Americans nationally and locally for the decades of the 1940's-1970's and of community activism in Roxbury and Boston during those years.
